I’m an intrapreneur, educator, coach, and systems thinker who believes in disrupting the status quo in pursuit of greater equity for students, educators, and communities. My work focuses on helping educational leaders and school teams turn strong ideas and evidence-based practices into meaningful, sustainable change. I apply Implementation Science to coach Executive Directors and help ensure that the practices they provide to teachers ultimately create better outcomes for students. I also coach school leaders and teams on effectively implementing continuous improvement and Response to Intervention plans, drawing on my experience in facilitation, project management, systems change, action research, and evaluation. Another important part of my work is strengthening the capacity of Rochester educators to make instructional decisions that build student cognition while creating more culturally responsive and equitable learning environments. My approach to professional learning is informed by resources including Everyday Antiracism: Getting Real About Race in Schools, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain, Cultivating Genius, and the New York State Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Framework. At the heart of everything I do is a belief that meaningful change requires us to examine existing systems, challenge practices that are not serving every student, and equip educators and leaders with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to create environments where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
