About

At the Albany Damien Center, we are dedicated to improving the health, well-being, and quality of life of individuals and families living with or directly affected by HIV/AIDS. Since 1988, we have provided a welcoming, supportive, and culturally diverse environment where people can access essential services, build meaningful relationships, and receive the encouragement they need to thrive.

We offer free membership-based programs that address many of the challenges people living with HIV face, including food insecurity, housing instability, emotional stress, social isolation, and barriers to healthcare. Our services include nutritious meals, pantry bags, food vouchers, peer support, supportive counseling, housing assistance, employment navigation, and connections to medical care and community resources.

Through our Smart Meals program, we provide nutritious food and nutrition education. Our Behavioral Health and Family Support Services help members navigate emotional challenges, financial concerns, family matters, and access to benefits. We also provide permanent supportive housing for eligible individuals living with HIV who have experienced chronic homelessness, along with a welcoming drop-in community space for social activities, education, and peer support.

Our Equity Center extends our commitment to inclusive care by providing health navigation, HIV testing, prevention education, and affirming support for LGBTQ+ communities. We believe everyone deserves dignity, compassion, connection, and access to the resources needed to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
